Zac Brown Band’s Island Song Serenades Elbow Cay

Zac Brown Band Island Song

When I’m not in the islands, I’m thinking about them. whether I’m planning the next trip, reading Caribbean news or thinking back on past adventures–they’re always on my mind. One of my favorite things to do is come up with new ways to showcase the islands for you guys, to inspire your island passion.

While reading news about the Bahamas the other night, Zac Brown Band’s Island Song started playing on iTunes. I quickly Googled the song to see if there was an official video put out by the band yet. After not finding one, I figured I’d make my own and put it to video footage shot during my time in Hope Town. Zac Brown Band…the Bahamas…heaven!

Zac Brown Band – Island Song

Zac Brown Band’s Island Song Lyrics

Can anybody here pass me a beer
And I’mma keep playing this music that you hear
And if you know the song
Then come and sing along with me

Walking with the beach to my left
Sea to my right
And I’mma get faded at the Tiki bar tonight
Then I’mma roll one up
Like my name is Bob
Yeah I’m gonna party like I’m a Jamaican

If you really wanna know where you can find me
I’ll be unwinding
Down in the islands, down in the islands
You should loose track of your timing
Grab a drink beside me
Down in the islands, down in the islands

Can anybody here pass me the rum
And we can find somebody who can play the steel drums
And if you like this beat then everybody dance with me
We got the ladies to the left
Fellas to the right
And everybody’s faded at the Tiki bar tonight
And we are gonna dance to the rhythm of the waves
While we drink Bacardi by the bonfire flames

If you really wanna know where you can find me
I’ll be unwinding
Down in the islands, down in the islands
You should loose track of your timing
Grab a drink beside me
Down in the islands, down in the islands

You don’t need no invitation, no
Whoaaa
If you’re looking for relaxation
Get away, get away with me
Make your destination my location

If you really wanna know where you can find me
I’ll be unwinding
Down in the islands, down in the islands
You should loose track of your timing
Grab a drink beside me
Down in the islands, down in the islands

If you really wanna know where you can find me
I’ll be unwinding (down, down, down, down)
Down in the islands, down in the islands
You should loose track of your timing
Grab a drink beside me
Down in the islands, down in the islands

  1. I have visited Abaco many times in the past 2 decades. Love the quaint friendliness of Hopetown and Guana Cay. I feel like I have gone home where I belong when I am in Abaco. Renting a boat and visiting Pete’s Pub, Nippers, and Lubbers Cay is a must when you visit. Captain Jacks, Harbors Edge, and of course the pool bar at the Hoprtown Lodge are great places in Hopetown. Vernon’s grocery and bakery is another favorite. I can’t wait until the next time.

  2. You mentioned some good spots Denny. I walked into Vernon’s Grocery just because I heard so much about it online. Saw the famous Key Lime pies. All of Elbow Cay was amazing, I just didn’t get a chance to hit the other cays. Really wanted to wander down to Pete’s Pub but didn’t make it. Next time! Thanks for the comment!
